Luangisa African Gallery was founded in 1996 by the Luangisa family from Bukoba, Tanzania. Located in Mount Vernon, NY, you can find authentic, Fair Trade, modern African art, artifacts, fashion, home decor, jewelry and textiles -- all handmade by African artisans. We work directly with artisans across the continent to share our rich African culture and heritage with the world. We are also the founders of the annual Wakanda Celebration, a non-profit division of the company. Held every September, this annual event is welcome to all to celebrate African music, food, dance, and more.
